The electricity price went up in Guernsey in April 2007. To counteract this we replaced incandescent bulbs with energy saving bulbs. Our electricity consumption has declined ten percent as a consequence of turning lights out when not in use and of turning off all appliances at the socket when not in use. We purchased the low energy bulbs in the image from B & Q Ltd. in Guernsey. These bulbs will help us cut our electricity bill further. The early low energy bulbs didn't always have a pleasing light but newer bulbs, when they warm up, provide a good quality of light.
