I found this tube anemone, Cerianthus lloydii, in a bed of eel grass, Zostera marina, at extreme low water spring tide (ELWS) on the sandy shore on the southern side of Belle Greve Bay. This anemone was in about 5 cm of water. As the first wave of the rising tide swept over it the anemone quickly disappeared from view down its tube.
Photographed on the 17 February 2007.
