Guernsey moth expert Richmond Austin writes that this moth "is almost certainly Eudonia angustea but I find them a difficult group to identify with certainty." This moth entered a moth trap set on the 21 September 2008 in my garden in St. Peter Port, Guernsey. It was photographed in an egg carton on the morning of 22 September. Egg cartons are used as substrate inside moth traps for the moths to settle on. It is the convention to date the moth record for the date the moth trap is set and not the date it is emptied.
