This gallery features moths and butterflies (order lepidoptera) I have photographed, mostly in 2008, in Guernsey, Channel Islands, British Isles. If the caption ends in 'smg' the identification I have made is tentative until confirmed by a lepidopteran specialist.

Dr. Charles David of the Guernsey Biological Record Centre (http://www.biologicalrecordscentre.gov.gg/ ) and Richmond Austin (moth specialist) of La Societe Guernesiaise (http://www.societe.org.gg/ ) have assisted me greatly in identifying many of the species I have photographed.

Any errors in identification are mine alone. Please contact me by email ( fishinfo@guernsey.net ) if you believe the identification of a moth or butterfly in this image gallery is in error.
