The nudibranch Aeolidiella alderi on the seashore at La Valette on Guernsey's east coast. This nudibranch is infected with the copepod parasite Splanchnotrophus sp. (possibly Splanchnotrophus angulatus)(identified by Dr. Michael Schrödl). The copepod egg cases are clearly visible on the dorsal surface of the nudibranch. Guernsey commercial crab fisherman, Clive Brown, gave me this sea slug with red and white ceratae. This species, coryphella browni was first described in the scientific literature in 1980 by Dr. Bernard Picton. This species is common in crab pots off Guernsey's south coast during April.
