Subclass Opisthobranchia (including order aplysiomorpha (mainly sea hares)); sacoglossa; pleurobranchomorpha; and nudibranchia (colourful sea slugs with gills exposed on the dorsal surface.)

sealord > Guernsey commercial crab fisherman, Clive Brown, brought these two aeolid sea slugs, Aeolidia papillosa, from one of his crab pots off Guernsey's south coast. I photographed them exchanging gametes in an aquarium on 2 August 2003. These nudibranchs are hermaphrodites so they can always exchange DNA when they meet.
